Общие сведения
Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party, the Communications Coordinator will be responsible for designing and implementing the strategic communications component of the expected programming on civil society development and civic engagement.
The incumbent will closely work with Kyrgyz civil society organizations, government officials, communication experts, content production companies, media organizations, and will be required to have practical knowledge of communication campaign development as well as a good understanding of current media landscape, social media trends/influencers, and various communication platforms.
Bachelors degree or equivalent in communications, media, or related field. At least five years of experience in strategic communications, media advocacy and engagement on civic organizing, transparency and accountability issues, or related fields.
Five or more years of technical experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders, specifically on citizen participation, and governance programs, with preference given to experience in Kyrgyzstan; USAID programs preferred.
Substantial experience with a broad range of platforms, including radio, TV, social and digital media.
Experience in journalism training and media capacity-building preferred.
Knowledge of USAID policies and procedures is preferred.
Knowledge of the political, social, cultural, environmental, and development context of the Central Asia (Kyrgyz Republic) experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Kyrgyz and Russian required, English preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the design and implementation — from concept to completion – of communication activities related to the expected programming on civil society development and civic engagement.
Develop terms of reference/creative briefs for communication activities (campaign design and implementation, multimedia production, copywriting, media monitoring, etc).
Oversee production of campaign content, ensure that messaging is consistent and appropriately tailored to reach target audiences.
Recommend ways to measure the effectiveness of the specific communications tools and channels used and new opportunities for reaching target audiences.
Work with the project team to design innovative strategies that support partners communication and advocacy efforts; work with program team to ensure effective implementation of partners communication activities; provide technical support and guidance to partners and grantees on communication and donor branding and marking requirements.
Contribute appropriate news and story ideas for project/donor communications teams.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a wide array of project partners: community activists, youth leaders, CSOs, relevant government agencies, donors, etc.
Participate in program-related meetings with partners, donors, subcontractors.
Maintain in-depth understanding of issues affecting the media and civil society landscape in Kyrgyzstan.
