Background
The OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (OSCE POiB) is willing to attract a qualified intern for up to six-month period for assisting the Human Dimension (HD) in implementing its activities related to human rights. Please note that the OSCE is not in a position paying any remuneration during the period of internship nor reimburse travel expenses.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The selected intern will have the opportunity to gain an overview/familiarize himself or herself with the work of the OSCE POiB, in particular Human Dimension. Under the overall supervision of the Head of
Human Dimension, the intern will be requested to carry out the following duties:

Assists in ensuring all related activities in the HD are adequately monitored and reported on by helping to prepare and organize monitoring schedule;
Assists in arranging the HD events, as well as other relevant OSCE events as required;
Assists to follow on a weekly basis to monitor the media and other relevant sources on the topics related to human rights activities and provide corresponding inputs;
Assists in conducting project events and facilitating round tables, seminars, meetings, conferences, as well as takes minutes during meetings if needed;
Assists with organizing project folders and any other relevant departmental technical work, including but not limited to translation;
Works closely with governmental institutions, NGOs, and other partners;
Learns all the procedures and modalities for his/her own professional growth, shares practice, suggests areas for improvement with the HD, and performs other relevant duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications
Be at least 19 years old and under the age of 30, have completed two years of full-time studies from an accredited institution or have completed a first or advanced degree in social/political sciences, law, journalism, conflict prevention and mediation, international relations, or other related fields;
Professional fluency in Kyrgyz, Russian and English with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of another OSCE working languages would be an asset;
Strong analytical, research and drafting skills;
Experience of data analysis, researching and writing reports on the topics related to the human rights activities;
Good organizational skills with ability to process and classify information quickly and efficiently;
Good knowledge of the political, social and economic issues and ability to comprehend the situation in the area, including southern provinces of Kyrgyzstan;
Organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
Excellent IT knowledge, familiarity with Microsoft Office and Internet applications. Professional knowledge of Excel and Power Point would be an asset;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people from different national and cultural backgrounds, whilst maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Remuneration Package:  The OSCE is not in a position to pay any remuneration or cover any expenses incurred by the intern during his/her stay nor reimburse travel expenses. The selected intern may participate in the group health insurance scheme at his/her own expense, but the OSCE will cover life and accident/disability insurance. If the intern opts to arrange his/her own medical coverage, he/she shall provide evidence of medical coverage for the duty station he/she applies to, and for any eventual duty trip destinations. The internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with the OSCE.
