Common information
The PR and Digitalisation Professional is responsible for
Coordinating, assuring the quality and implementing all project related PR and communication work
Cooperating with GIZs Country Office Communications Unit and if necessary with GIZs Corporate Communication Unit managing the exchange of information on communication
Coordinating cooperation with external communication service providers (e.g, graphic designers, photographers)
Supporting the project members in the use of digital technologies and adapting to digital change processes within GIZ
Providing advice and support for the use of ICT-based tools in project activities
Qualification requirements
Required qualifications, competences and experience
University degree or comparable training
Professional experience
At least 3 years professional experience in the field of communication (media and PR work, journalism, internal communication or similar)
Other knowledge, additional competences
Ability to express oneself well both verbally and in writing; polished, target-group oriented style
Experience with media production
Knowledge of DTP or graphics applications
Experience in event management
Editorial experience, experience in writing articles and press releases (evidenced by work samples)
Outstanding working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software), computer and mobile applications
Very good knowledge of Kyrgyz, Russian and English language, knowledge in German would be an asset
High interest in digital change processes
Advisory and training skills as well as willingness to share knowledge and experiment
Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
Communication and PR
The technical professional
Develops and implements a communication strategy for the project
Organizes and files relevant project documents and databases in DMS and on other GIZ related platforms (e.g. IDA)
Develops, maintains and updates partners contact list/database in the field of PR and media
Supports the collection and preparation of suitable PR information on project activities, advises colleagues, compiles annual reports for the project partners
Prepares press releases, factsheets and other PR materials of the project and takes care of the projects visibility-related issues on conferences, events with partners, etc.
Advises the project staff members and partners about communication and PR regulations of GIZ (e.g., Corporate Design)
Plans and further implements PR and communication budget within the project budget
Organizes a suitable regular update of the project facebook page and advises colleagues on working with social media
Ensures knowledge management: collects, processes and distributes relevant information, monitors and analyses reports about the project or of relevance to the project in press and other media
Acts as a communication contact person (KAP) of the project, takes part in all KAP activities of GIZ Kyrgyzstan, consults regularly with the manger about communication and PR issues.
Collaborates with mass media at local and national levels through activities such as organizing project site visits, facilitating photo coverage and TV footage and utilizing both web-based and traditional media as appropriate
The technical professional
Familiarizes him/herself with the digital technologies and working processes as well as innovations introduced by GIZ (e.g., IDA)
Acts as a digital multiplier for the project, informs about innovations/changes in digitalization within GIZ
Supports and mentors colleagues to reflect and take part in digital change processes within GIZ and within the project
Shares experiences and supports in qualifying colleagues to use information and communication technologies (ITC) in their work
Provides support and input to use ICT-based tools in project activities, e.g. to strengthen youth participation or in capacity development activities like trainings or in monitoring and data collection
Advises partners in using digital technologies in their work and supports qualifying partners in this respect to prevent digital gaps
Other duties/additional tasks
The PR professional
