Mercy Corps Kyrgyzstans flagship program is USDAs Food for Education program that is implemented country-wide and supporting improved learning environments for children through enhancing school and at-home nutrition, school infrastructure and sanitation and literacy.
Mercy Corps is pleased to announce the Program Intern opportunity in its Bishkek and Osh offices for 2 months February-March 2021
– 2 Program Intern positions for Bishkek office, and 2 Program Intern positions for Osh office.
Qualification requirements
General Service Summary
For successful implementation of the Food for Education Program, Mercy Corps requires Interns support for the FFE infrastructure and sanitation improvement activities, program files and database, as well other day-to-day program activities as needed.
Qualification Requirements for Program Interns:
University students in their senior years or recent graduates;
Excellent knowledge of English, Russian and Kyrgyz languages;
Excellent computer skills (proficiency in MS Office required);
Good organizational and communication skills;
Good analytical thinking and ability to interpret data;
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Success Factors
High level of personal integrity, flexibility, commitment, attention to detail and ability to work well as member of a team. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work simultaneously on different tasks.
Duties
Program Intern Duties:
Assist the FFE Program infrastructure component team and target schools in filling out, distributing, collecting tripartite contracts, as well as other project documents in the framework of the supply of kitchen equipment, furniture, and implementation of infrastructure and construction projects;
Ability to provide service directly at the Mercy Corps office, as well as remotely;
Provide support with collection, systematization, copying and archiving all project documents, including, if necessary, financial documents;
Provide support with written translation of materials into Kyrgyz/Russian/English;
Work with databases of program indicators;
Provide technical assistance in the preparation of financial reports on the performed activities and submit them to the Finance Department;
Assist in preparing initial procurement documents (market research, Internet search);
Other tasks as requested by the direct supervisor or Program Manager.
